VILLA OF LIVIA, PRIMAPORTA
Second-style frescoes from the villa suburbana at Primaporta, belonging to Livia Drusilla (57 BC - AD 29), the wife of Augustus Caesar and mother of Tiberius.
The frescoes decorated an underground, windowless room, the function of which is unknown. They are currently on permanent display in the Museo Nazionale Romano in Rome.
